Grateful Hambone Award® Winner Reunites with Fearless Firefighters

Peanut, the dachshund-terrier mix, who took home the coveted 2012 VPI Hambone Award® as the year’s most unusual claim after nearly being buried alive following a scuffle with a skunk, was recently reunited with the firefighters who rescued her last October.

Peanut’s owners, Keith and Christy Wolfram of Sicklerville, N.J., made a visit to the Winslow Township Fire Department to once again thank the brave firefighters and show off their precious pooch a year after her nearly-tragic incident. During the reunion, the firefighters took part in an ABC Philadelphia television segment with Peanut, the Wolframs and the 2012 VPI Hambone Award® trophy.

The Wolframs are very thankful to the Winslow Township Fire Department for their part in saving Peanut and helping her become the fourth VPI Hambone Award® Winner!
