After seeing an online post about a littler of Yorkshire terrier mix puppies in need of a home, Jennifer Mickelson of Fort Lauderdale, Florida decided to bring one into her family. The only problem was that they couldn't all agree on a name. The Mickelson family was deciding between Fiona, Penny or Pickles, until they came up with the idea to mash them all together, and the moniker Fiona Penny Pickles was born.
"All the names were good options,” said Jennifer. “We just thought outside the box and it stuck. We think it's a perfect name for her. People always give a little chuckle when they hear it for the first time, but they always love it."
Despite her tiny stature, Fiona Penny Pickles has a huge personality and is boss of the house. She enjoys chasing squirrels outside, playing with her toys and bullying around her canine brother, Hamilton Chewy Chompers.
Jennifer purchased pet insurance for Fiona Penny Pickles and her brother after experiencing immense medical costs associated with her previous dog.
"Pets are part of the family and they should be covered for medical expenses just like we are," said Jennifer. "It gives us comfort knowing that they’ll be covered for anything that happens in the future."
