In a galaxy not so far away, Anakin Tailwagger has landed a spot on the 2020 Wacky Pet Name nomination list. The inspiration for this quirky name comes from Anakin Skywalker, a leading character from the popular “Star Wars” franchise.
“I’m a big fan of ‘Star Wars,’” says Desiree Crissman, Anakin’s owner. “I’m not a huge fan of the character, but I liked how he changed throughout the series—and it fits my dog.”
Anakin Tailwagger came to the Crissman home as a cautious dog. “It’s funny, he sort of started out as Darth Vader and turned into Anakin,” says Desiree.
Desiree says that you can bet Anakin will be on a running rampage at some point throughout the day. “He loves to run around the house, doing laps up and down,” she says with a smile.
When it comes to naming your pet, Desiree recommends going with something that will bring you joy (and something that you don’t mind hearing all the time).
As responsible pet parents, the Crissmans knew it was important to get Anakin health coverage. Desiree says, “I care for my pet as much as I care for a child, and I wouldn’t let my child not have insurance.”
