Cat mom Lara W. found herself at a kitten crossroads when it came to naming her new kitty. The result was a wacky pet name unlike any other: “She was part of a set of twins … [and] she always looked mad—or like she was planning something malicious—and her sister always looked happy and friendly. So, they were named Good Twin and Evil Twin.”
Once she brought Evil Twin home, Lara soon realized there was a cuddler underneath that scowl. “She’s only social on her own terms,” Lara says. “Once she lets you in, she’s a total love bug.” She also realized that Evil Twin loves nothing more than to squeeze into tight spots. Lara continues, “She’s a liquid cat, like those pictures of those cats that you see melt into large wine glasses. She’s hidden in the smallest places—including air ducts.”
How do you find a wacky name that fits your pet? According to Lara, your pet will tell you. “Get to know the pet … often, they’ll tell you what they want to be called through their personality,” she says.
She adds, “It’ll make things easier in getting them to respond to their name, too.”
