A pet name like “Boolaloobala” connects with the listener, in part because it has such a unique, sonorous flow. No surprise it has a musical origin: “[It’s] a Cuban song about a wild girl,” says dog parent Rise B. “She was a crazy and wild puppy.”
That little bit of wildness has continued into her adulthood—as illustrated by her love of whipped cream. “When I squirt whipped cream in a bowl, she comes running even if she is in her bed sleeping,” Rise adds.
Wildness aside, Boolaloobala is a love bug above all else. Rise says, “She loves going walking at the park and knows her way around. She understands some Spanish words when her Papa talks to her, and loves to sleep between her papa and mama … she’s cuddly, smart and funny.”
Rise continues, “Before we get out of bed in the morning, we sing a Hebrew prayer thanking God for waking us up. She sits there until I am done, and then she gets up so that papa will take her out. We have a routine in the morning, and she makes sure we follow it.”
Knowing there were other pet insurers to choose from, Rise wanted to find the right one for her girl. “I researched others on the internet,” she says, before choosing Nationwide to protect Boolaloobala.
