Some pet parents choose a name that’s designed to make them smile. Mustelid mom Kimberly J. and her family decided to pay homage to some of their favorite comedians when they got a pair of funny ferrets who love to dook (which, for the uninitiated, is a sound that ferrets make when they’re having fun).
“My family enjoys several Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly movies, and it was a pun we couldn’t pass on,” Kimberly says. “We now have Will Ferret and Dook C. Reilly, who keep us laughing even when [we're] not watching comedies.”
Like his namesake, Will Ferret loves to make noise and put on a show. “He’s a super dooker. Some ferrets don’t make too much noise, but Will Ferret can dook all day,” says Kimberly. At the end of the day, he’s also a great cuddler. “Will is the sweetest ferret. He’s so soft and cuddly and gentle—he doesn’t bite his humans, but loves to chew on watch bands.”
