The name “Mr. Pizza Puff” was originally inspired from two of the great things in life: Vacation and snacks. Doggie mom and Nationwide member Mindy H. recalls, “My friends and I were gorging ourselves because we were on vacation. We needed to eat ‘Pizza, tacos, and dessert!’ and we kept singing it. ‘Pizza, tacos, and dessert!’”
The singsong character of the vacation treats and laid-back vibe was soon more broadly applied. Mindy continues, “My partner’s name is Spencer, and eventually we thought, ‘Pizza, Mindy, and Spencer!’ had a nice ring to it.” Naturally, they needed “pizza” to make their trio complete. Enter: Mr. Pizza Puff.
“We’re from the Midwest, where pizza puffs are a delicacy—and I love pet names with a ‘Mister’ in front of it. So, Mr. Pizza Puff was our name for our new puppy. I love how silly and fun it is.”
Like savory cheese and pup-peroni in a buttery blanky of dough, Mr. Pizza Puff is naturally at home cuddled up with his people. Mindy says, “He’s a big cuddle love bug. He insists on sleeping in between our legs under a blanket. He curls up into the sweetest little ball.”
When it came time to choose pet protection for their small mixed-breed dog, they followed their nose to another Midwest staple: Nationwide pet insurance. “Filing claims is so easy, and [Nationwide] came so highly recommended.”
